Momentum building for PACE Athletes
11th February 2018 – With the IAAF World Indoor Championships now only three weeks away PACE athletes continue to fine tune their preparations.
At the IAAF World Indoor Tour event in Boston, Steph Twell (GBR) gave a timely reminder of what she is capable of with a fine third place finish in the women’s 3000m in an indoor PB of 8:41.94. Bralon Taplin (GRN) stepped down just a little to the 300m and finished second in 32.50 seconds and Shamier Little (USA) was fourth in the 400m.
At meets during week both Dina Asher-Smith(GBR) and Vincent Kibet (KEN) achieved third place finishes in their respective events. Dina in the 60m in Paris and Vincent in the 1500m in Madrid. Schillonie Calvert-Powell (JAM) finished fourth in the 60m in Montreal before making the trip across the Atlantic for further races in Europe.
Away from the track, Timothy Toroitich (UGA) ran a PB at the RAK Half Marathon setting new figures of 62:10 for the 13.1 mile distance. Ugandan teammate Thomas Ayeko (UGA) also showed he is in good shape as he won the Ugandan National Cross-Country Championhips in a photo finish at the line!
