Shamier has little problem in Lausanne
5th July 2019 – Perfect weather conditions, a sell-out crowd, and high-class fields made sure the latest leg of the IAAF Diamond League series in Lausanne was a memorable one.
Shamier Little (USA) has grown to love this venue as she won the 400m hurdles for the second year in row here. A fast start put her in control of the race and despite a small stutter into the final hurdle she still had the speed and strength left to take victory in 53.73 seconds.
Dina Asher-Smith (GBR) ran a season’s best and her second fastest time ever when taking second place in the 100m clocking 10.91 seconds.
Vincent Kibet (KEN) and Bethwel Birgen (KEN) were both involved in a very fast 1500m running times of 3:33.79 and 3:35.04 but such was the depth of the field this only earned them seventh and eleventh respectively.
