Shannon shines again
1st August 2020 – With the first of World Athletics Diamond League meetings still a couple of weeks away, athletes are using more local meets to hone their training, and to good effect.
One of those is Shannon Rowbury (USA) who, two weeks after setting a world lead over 3000m, this week tackled the 1500m. At the third in the series of the Big Friendly meets in Oregon, Shannon was once more was a convincing winner and her time of 4:03.62 represents her fastest since 2016, and also her fastest since the birth of her daughter.
