And that’s a wrap
18th September 2021 – At the end of one of the most challenging seasons ever for athletes, Trayvon Bromell (USA) and Fred Kerley (USA) brought the curtain down in style with personal best performances at the World Athletics Continental Tour event in Nairobi.
Heading into the men’s 100m Trayvon was already the holder of the world leading time, but he rubberstamped it here with victory in a time of 9.76 seconds. This places him equal sixth on the all-time list and was the perfect way to head into his end of season break.
Fred has been making headlines all season since surprising some by choosing to switch down to the 100m and 200m when he has already shown himself to be world class over 400m. Once again though he showed why with a win in the 200m and new personal best of 19.76 seconds.
Nairobi marked the end of the 2021 outdoor track season for PACE athletes. What they have managed to achieve in these most testing of circumstances though already has excited for 2022.
