Relay medals for Jenna and Dina
6th August 2021 – Running the third legs for their respective 4x100m teams both Jenna Prandini (USA) and Dina Asher-Smith (GBR) earned Olympic medals.
Expectations for fast times were high after the British quartet had moved to fifth on the all-time list with their heat victory of 41.55 seconds and the final duly delivered with the three leading teams all running inside 42 seconds.
Jenna and her US teammates combined to see them take the silver in 41.45 seconds, the third fastest time by US quartet ever and only beaten on the day by the second fastest time of 41.02 seconds by the winning Jamaicans.
Britain were not quite able to match their heat time but with Dina running an excellent bend still safely got the baton round in 41.88 seconds to claim the bronze.
