Weekend track round up
16th April 2017 – Schillonie Calvert-Powell (JAM) and Jenna Prandini (USA) were in sprints action at one of the traditional season curtain raisers, the Mt Sac Relays.
Both ran in the 100m with Schillonie winning her section in 11.15 seconds and Jenna taking sixth place in her race in 11.18 seconds. Also at Mt Sac, Laura Roesler (USA) was involved in a high quality 800m that saw the long-standing NCAA record broken, Laura pushing the winner all the way as she took second place in 1:59.54. This is the third fastest time Laura has run, showing the great shape she is in at this early stage of the season.
Jenna and Laura are among six PACE athletes who have been chosen to represent their countries at the IAAF World Relay Championships in the Bahamas. The full list is Christine Ohuruogu (GBR), Matthew Hudson-Smith (GBR), Kemar Bailey-Cole (JAM), Ristananna Tracey (JAM), Jenna Prandini (USA), and Laura Roesler (USA), with the championships due to take place next weekend, the 22nd-23rd April.
