Schillonie Calvert wins 100m in Hengelo in 11.05
Former Jamaican high school star Schillonie Calvert (JAM) showed that she can be a contender at senior level with the best international performance of her career in the 100m in the FBK Games in Hengelo. The Glen Mills coached athlete clocked 11.05 secs to beat an established field and move to 7th fastest in the world this year. Abi Oyepitan (GBR) placed 2nd in the 200m in a season’s best 23.34 secs while Mario Forsythe (JAM) took 4th in the men’s 100m in 10.13 secs having earlier won his heat in 10.11 secs.
In the European Clubs Cup in Portugal Chris Tomlinson (GBR) won the long jump in 8.28m (+3.1).
Edwin Kemboi (KEN) and Patrick Ereng (KEN) placed 3rd in the 800m and 3000m respectively in the IAAF World Challenge meeting in Dakar. Kemoi clocked 1:47 while Ereng was timed at 7:44.
