Bronze for Usain Bolt
5th August 2017 – In the final individual race of his glittering career, Usain Bolt (JAM) finished in third place in the men’s 100m final.
Despite finishing fast he ran out of track before he was able to overhaul two of his American competitors. Ultimately, on the night he may not have left the stadium as the World Champion, but he was and always will be the people’s champion.
In the morning session both Fred Kerley (USA) and Matthew Hudson-Smith progressed into the semi-finals of the mens 400m. Sadly, Winny Chebet just came up short in her bid for a place in the women’s 1500m final.
