Bolt, Cheruiyot and Bett win in Brussels
Usain Bolt (JAM), Vivian Cheruiyot (KEN) and Emmanuel Bett (KEN) were the winners in the Diamond League Final in Brussels. Bolt took the 100m honors with a time of 9.87 secs to win his first Diamond Race. Cheruiyot took the 5000m with a 59 secs last lap to win her third consecutive 5000m Diamond. Bett improved his personal best to 26:51 to win the 10,000m, a mark that makes him the fastest 10,000m runner in the world in 2012.
Kemar Bailey-Cole (JAM) went sub 10 for the first time in his career with 9.97 for 3rd in the 100m. Perri Shakes-Drayton (GBR) placed 2nd in the 400mH in 53.89 secs, her third sub 54 of the year. In the 1500m Bethwel Birgen (KEN) placed 3rd and Matthew Centrowitz (USA) 4th, both recording 3:32, with Olympic Games silver medalist Leo Manzano (USA) clocking 3:34. Chris Tomlinson (GBR) took 4th in the long jump while Mike Kigen (KEN) took 20 secs off his 10,000m PB with 27:03.
