Vivian Cheruiyot takes Commonwealth 5000m title
With a 60.4 secs last lap Vivian Cheruiyot (KEN) added the Commonwealth Games 5000m title to her World and African titles with a controlled victory over World silver medallist Sylvia Kibet and fellow Kenyan Iness Chenonge, with Stephanie Twell (SCO) a good 4th.
Mark Lewis-Francis and Abi Oyepitan anchored the England men and women’s 4x100m relay team to gold medals – Lewis-Francis running an excellent last leg to pass the Jamaican team and Oyepitan backing up her 200m silver with relay gold.
