Victory for Laura Roesler on professional debut
15th July 2014 – It took NCAA Champion Laura Roesler (USA) no time at all to adapt to the professional ranks as she took victory at the Gugl Games in Linz.
Continuing to show the form which has already brought her the prestigious American Collegiate title this year and a silver medal at USATF Championships, Laura kicked away from the field, winning in a time of 2:01.59. Laura will make her Diamond League debut in Monaco on Friday night.
At the meeting in Luzern, Schillonie Calvert (JAM) finished third in her final race before the Commonwealth Games, running 11.32 for the 100m. Jeremiah Mutai (KEN) was fourth in the 800m at the same meeting.
