Timothy Toroitich wins in Soria
23rd November 2014 – Once again Ugandan international Timothy Toroitich (UGA) showed that he feels most at home on the country by taking victory at the XXI Cross Internacional de Soria on Sunday.
Always to the fore of the field Timothy moved away over the final 1000m to be the only athlete to break 30 minutes for the 10km course taking victory in 29:58.
Emmanuel Bett (KEN) also had a good run taking third place in 30:09 as he finally seems to have the put a nagging recent knee injury behind him.
In the womens race Doris Changeywo (KEN) was involved in a head to head duel with fellow countrywoman Mercy Cherono. Doris just has to concede on this occasion but her second place finish was still a pleasing run for her.
Making a very welcome return to competition back in Kenya was three times World Champion Vivian Cheruiyot (KEN). Running in the Eldoret Cross-Country Vivian took fourth place and will now look to build on this as she targets a place at next years World Championships.
