Portland wins for Farah and Hasay
15th June 2014 – World and Olympic Champion Mo Farah (GBR) made a successful return to the track in his first race since the London marathon with a win in the 5000m in the Portland Track Festival. The Alberto Salazar coached athlete clocked 13:23.42 with a 53 secs last lap. “My aim was just to run a good race here, I wasn’t thinking too much about the time, just running,” Farah told reporters after the race. “It’s nice to be back on the track.”
Jordan Hasay (USA) took two victories in the same meeting. She won the 1500m in 4:11.23 and came back to the track to win the 5000m in a new personal best of 15:28.56. Next up is the USATF 10,000m Championships in two weeks.
