10th June 2018 – They may have never raced on the track but Usain Bolt (JAM) and Sir Mo Farah (GBR) found themselves on opposing teams at the latest Soccer Aid event in support of UNICEF.
In front of sell out crowd of 71,000 at Old Trafford (home of Manchester United FC) Usain captained the Rest of World XI, joined by amongst others, stars such as Yaya Toure, Robbie Keane and Claude Makalele. Playing for the England XI in the first half Mo found himself lining up in defence with Phil Neville, Wes Brown and David Seaman.
Usain was unlucky to see a goal chalked out for offside and then had a shot hit the crossbar in the second half. Mo was industrious up and down the right flank putting in some timely tackles and also using the ball productively while in possession.
The game finished 3-3 and so was decided by a penalty shoot out which was won by England.
