World Championships fifth placer Timothy Toroitich (UGA) earned his first victory in Europe at the LXXI edition of the Cross Internacional Juan Muguerza in Elgoibar.

Having just missed out in a sprint finish last weekend, Toroitich took no chances here and cruised to the line 7 seconds clear. In second was fellow PACE athlete Emmanuel Bett (KEN) who continues his consistent winter form with another podium place. Linet Masai (KEN) took third in the womens event.

At the Great Edinburgh Cross-Country PACE athletes Chris Thompson (GBR) and Steph Twell (GBR) were both in action. Thompson tackled the shorter 4km race and was the first British athlete to cross the line in sixth. Twell was part of the British team contesting the match race against the USA and a combined European team. She finished ninth and contributed to a British victory.
