Perfect send off for Centro
24th July 2021 – Just over two weeks before he starts the defence of Olympic 1500m title, Matthew Centrowitz (USA) showed that is he is great shape by running a PB for 1 mile.
At The Centro Mile in Portland, a race set up specifically for him and to give his local fans the chance to see him on his way to Tokyo in style, Matt won in 3:49.26 to become the fifth fastest American of all time.
Sinclaire Johnson (USA) also ran a mile over the weekend but on the road at the Liberty Mile in Pittsburgh. Sinclaire not only won the race but by running 4:26.54 set a new course record.
