Chris Thompson defends Great Scottish title
30th September 2018 – Chris Thompson (GBR) won the Great Scottish Run for the second year in a row with a dominant display in Glasgow.
Last year Chris ran in the lead group for a large portion of the race but here he stamped his authority on proceedings early and split the field before the 5km mark. He continued to push on and was able to enjoy a solo effort over the second half to cross the finish line comfortably clear in 62:07.
Having just returned from an altitude training camp in the US as he builds up to the New York Marathon Chris confirmed his good shape and is looking forward to the month ahead.
Thomas Ayeko (UGA) has already run his Autumn Marathon and he placed second in the Sydney Marathon in 2:15:52.
