Mark became the first Irishman ever to win a European Championships title when he won the 800m, and set a Championship Record, in Birmingham 2026. Prior to this he was a 5 times European Championships 800m medalist – silver indoors in 2015, bronze indoors in 2019 & 2025 and bronze outdoors in 2014 & 2022. He won 19 National Championships titles in Ireland and holds the Irish Indoor 800m Record (1:44.23) and boasts an outdoor PB of 1:42.97.  Mark is a qualified medical doctor having studied at University College Dublin.
