Sir Mo Farah
1st January 2017 – After another year in which he confirmed his status as the world’s number one distance runner Mo Farah (GBR) has been honoured in the New Year Honours list.
Having already been awarded a CBE in 2013, Mo has now been awarded a Knighthood and shall be known as Sir Mo Farah
On receiving the Knighthood Mo said “I am so happy to be awarded this incredible honour from the country that has been my home since I moved here at the age of eight. Looking back at the boy who arrived here from Somalia, not speaking any English, I could never have imagined where I would be today – it is a dream come true.”
