6th July 2019 – For several years the Night of the 10,000m PB’s is an event that has gained notoriety for its innovation, bravery to do things differently, and best of all crowds. Large, vociferous, passionate crowds, and the 2019 edition was widely acclaimed to be the best yet.

One of the biggest beneficiaries was Steph Twell (GBR) who produced arguably the performance of her career to date as she ran down long time leader Lornah Salpeter over the final couple of laps. Initially setting off with the goal of breaking her 32:16 PB Steph absolutely destroyed it along with both the World Championships and Olympic qualifying times. The event doubled up as both the European 10,000m Cup and the British 10,000m Championships and Steph won the overall race in 31:08.13 to move to number six on the British all-time list.

In the men’s event Chris Thompson (GBR) put in a solid performance to take third position in the British Championships in 28:28.55.
